Tara is a published children’s author

Director and Owner of Roseland Childcare Tara Garmston is also a published author. Her book “The Little Black Cat” hit the shelves in September 2022 and is a firm favourite at the nursery and beyond. Telling the story of her very own little cat, the book is targeted at the under 5 year olds but the exciting rhyming narrative is enjoyed by all age groups.

how the book idea was created

During the COVID pandemic Tara set about realising one of her lifelong dreams of writing a children’s book. It was during this time of isolation and many hours of watching her cat around the house, that the idea was born. Over the following years the book was developed by the Publishers Austin Macauley and finally released to the public.

When Tara is not busy at the nursery, she spends her time promoting the book around Barry and the local area. Look out for her at libraries and book stores, as well as readings at Roseland Childcare.
